This is small county park rest area just south of Marathon on US1. You have several picnic tables in pavilions,a couple under a large tree at the north end. Many come here to walk the beach, swim, kiak, or take in the view. John will usually take up the first pavilion making palm leaf hats, birds, bowls, wind fans all from palm tree leafs. It is usually a clean kept up park, with bathrooms, outside shower area next to the building for those who want to rinse off after being in the ocean water swimming, or walking. Open sun up,closes at dusk. Not everyone notices this park just driving along the hwy, because it lower then the hwy. But it is a nice small park.
Beautiful view of the water just don't get stuck at night waiting for construction to allow you to drive 1 way on the bridge we waited over half an hour 2 nights in a row
The water was clear but the sand was muddy in the water. Just an ok beach
Happened to pull of the highway and park the car. This spot is beautiful. Apart from having ample parking there are decent restroom facilities. It was very windy the day I went, hence couldn't really Guage how sandy the beach is.
Lovely spot. Clean bathrooms, foot wash and water fountain. Nice to take a break from driving for a little bit.
